Some of our roles have legal requirements regarding safeguarding of children and/or vulnerable adults. For this reason, you will be asked to confirm you have not been barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults. You will not able to complete this application form if you have been previously barred. However, this should not prevent you from volunteering in other roles. If you have been barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults please get in contact with us via volunteer@newbeginningsreading.org so we can discuss what roles might be suitable for you.

As part of the application you will be asked to provide contact details for three people that you know: one emergency contact and two people (non-relatives) who can provide a character reference. Please ask permission from them before submitting their contact details and inform your references that we may contact them for a character reference. This will be phone or email.
