All Night Café

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the All Night Café. For more information, please see our recent news post or Facebook Jobs post.

The All Night Café provides the homeless with a meal and a place to sleep. At present, it runs twice a week every Friday and Saturday night at the Queens Arms.

It began in November 2018, after our charity founder, Grace Gomez, was inspired by the All Night Café in Camberley. As it does today, it ran twice a week, every Friday and Saturday during the months of November and December 2018. However, the café was never intended as a one-off and so spurred on by the success, it was restarted on Friday 5th April 2019 and has continued to this day. It will continue for as long as volunteers are available to support the service for our guests.

Can you help? The café depends upon a number of teams of of volunteers. New Beginnings Reading need a sufficient number of volunteers, in particular those able to commit to regular shifts on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule, plus additional volunteers on stand-by to provide cover. As are teams grow in size and number, our hope is to start opening the café on Thursdays.

If you can help us this way, please get in contact with us.
