The Way Ministry Reading was started in December 2012 by Grace and Joe Gomez, after they were moved by the plight of the homeless, poor and those with addictions. Originally hosted at the Coley Park Community Centre, they invited people from the streets and waited to see who came. Numbers grew from 4, to 7, to 12, to 20 and by the end of 2017 more than 30 guests would attend regularly.
TWM offer prayer, support, advocacy and sign posting to our guests, and have helped some people off of the streets and into their own accommodation. They rely solely on donations and have been supported by The New Testament Church of God, The All Sufficient Ministries, The Grange Church in Southcote, The Provident Chapel and The Passage in London and the generosity and good will of individuals and businesses.
In addition to providing a hot meal in a safe and caring environment, TWM are often able provide used clothing, sleeping bags, tents and bedding which were received as donations.
As of January 2018, TWM has moved to Queens Arms and will be running weekly instead of fortnightly.
