Happy New Year to all our users, volunteers, supporters and doners! 2019 has been an amazing year for us and we thank you all for being part of it. Many of you have worked hard, especially in the last few months of this year. We look forward to working and serving you all in 2020!
The new year brings a big change for us - a new look for our logo and website. We hope you like it! We thank Paul Davis for designing and creating the new website and logo, plus the excellent video on the new home page (worth a watch!).
We also thank David Neale of Reading Vountary Action for creating and hosting our previous website and all he has done to help us with the technical sides of things during the early days of the charity.
Wishing you all a joyful and propserous 2020!
From the trustees of New Beginnings Reading
We have been awarded funding from the central government cold weather fund to end rough sleeping. It means that we can open the All Night Cafe Shelter for the homeless every night in December! Grace Gomez, founder and chair had this to say about the news on Facebook:
I cried tears of joy for hours. We will be open on Christmas day to treat our guests to a wonderful Christmas day and they will be able to go to sleep stuffed with Christmas dinner, safe and off the streets.
We are going to need volunteers from 7.30pm to 10pm 7 days a week. Why not sign up as a group of neighbours, work friends, church or friends and commit to one more days in December? 8 volunteers will be needed each day in December.
